The Use of Metaphor in Therapy:

A Master Practitioner Self Build Module with Bill O'Hanlon
26-28 September 2008 £375 including VAT

“There is no use trying, she said.“One cannot believe impossible things.”“I dare say you haven’t had much practice” said the Queen “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day.Why sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”–Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

Possibility Therapy uses the power of acknowledgment to meet people where they are stuck and the power of possibility to invite them into change. Not just a positive approach, this approach recognizes problems, the influence of the past, and cultural, political and gender influences while creating a respectful, hopeful environment for change. It also adds a spiritual dimension to therapy. Through clear handouts and lectures, videotapes and practice exercises, participants will have the opportunity to not only learn this approach to therapy but also to apply it to their own lives and selves.

    Bill O'Hanlon

    Trainer, Psychotherapist

Bill O'Hanlon Bill O'Hanlon is a Psychotherapist whose clinical work is recognised for its collaborative and respectful approach to clients.

During graduate school he became Milton Erickson's gardener - Dr. Erickson's only work/study student. He was so confused and impressed by Erickson's work, he felt compelled to spend the next 12 years of his career writing and teaching in an effort to make it understandable and accessible. 19 books, many airmiles, and countless workshops later, this journey has led to the development of Solution-Oriented Therapy and the foundation of Possibility and Inclusive Therapies.

He is known for his storytelling, irreverent humour, clear and accessible presentation style and his psychotic enthusiasm for whatever he is doing.
