Robert Dilts, Tim Hallbom, Suzie Smith Target audience: Appropriate for those who are involved in working with /caring for individuals who are wanting/needing to improve their health Summary of content: The book comprises of a series of case studies and explanation of the NLP work which was done with those thereby bringing about improvement in their health and well being. It also includes the steps included in the NLP techniques which were utilised. Recommended features: If you are a health care professional looking for alternative ways of caring for people or a carer who is looking improve the quality of life for someone, or an NLP practioner looking to widen the area in which you can apply your learning then the whole book may be of interest. Personal impressions: I was however slightly worried by the book. The work carried out by the authors is obviously amazing and of huge benefit to those concerned. What troubled me was that they are working at a high level of expertise and there are many example throughout the book where an inappropriate intervention could have impacted quite negatively on the explorers, and for some there was a lot at stake here. I was therefore a little surprised that the techniques were in the book as it almost gave the impression that it was ok for everyone to go and have a go , and I was not so sure of the ethics and ecology of this. I would have preferred to read a book that told the stories as a story, and left it for readers who were interested to go and get appropriate guidance and training if they wanted to learn how to carry out the techniques. I also think that the book would have been more readable if it hadn't been trying to teach as well as telling the stories.
