March Exercise of the Month
Based on David Cooperryder's Appreciative Inquiry 4D model.
Adapted by Derek Jackson March 2005

1. Identify a recent positive experience that is an example of abilities you want to develop and extend your level of success.
2. Calibrate your level of confidence in your ability to achieve this development, on a scale of 1 low - 10 high.
3. Notice where in your body you hold this belief, and complete an inventory on it so that you will know at the end of the process if this belief has altered.
4. Engage with your POSITIVE CORE
- What do you value most about yourself right now?
- How is this an expression of who you are?
- What else is important to you?
5. Step into AFFIRMATIVE TOPIC:
- What are you doing particularly well already?
6. Take this into the DISCOVERY space
- When have you done this well in the past?
- What current examples do you have of demonstrating this?
- How does this contribute to your Positive Core?
7. Take this into the DREAM space
- What might happen if you were to develop this more?
- What situations might present themselves?
- What situations would be less likely to happen?
- How does this contribute to your Positive Core?
8. Step into the DESIGN space
- What should be possible if you develop this more?
- What do you need to put into place to achieve your dreams?
- How does this align with your Positive Core?
9. Step into the DESTINY space
- What will happen when you develop this more?
- What specific steps will you take?
- How will this enhance your Positive Core?
10. Step into the POSITIVE CORE space
- What is important to you now?
- How much more are you?
- What are you ready to consider now?
